Purchased this detector to replace our ionized smoke detector, which was going off every time we used our oven above 400F. This detector was very easy to install and test. It was also easy to sync it
When we replaced all of the fire detectors in our home I originally bought the cheapest Kidde ones available but kept getting false alarms (showers, cooking, etc.). I replaced the main floor alarm with this one and have not had a false alarm since. Definitely worth the couple of extra bucks to not have daily false alarms from humidity. Was easy to install if you've ever done a hardwired fire alarm before (or a light fixture) it may seem intimidating to a first time installer but same basic install as all 120v smoke alarms if in doubt look for a how to video online.
